Description
Welcome to the 4th Annual Jean Heuschen Memorial Ride p/b Naples Cyclery & Kelly Passidomo Kelly. This year, the ride will be held on Sunday February 18, 2024, with rides of 5-20, 30, 100, and 200 miles.
New For This Year:
- Admission for the 100 and 200 mile ride stages this year is $55 with a $15 discount for Naples Velo Members applied at check out.
- Admission for the 5–20-mile Family Fun Ride and the 30-mile Gordon Drive Ride is FREE.
- All riders receive a pair of free cycling socks as a memento.
- All riders may buy a 2024 JHMR Safetti Cycling Jersey—orders must be entered by Jan 1, 2024.
- There will be an after party with complementary food, drink, and awards following the 100 mile ride (approx, 2 PM) and the 200 mile ride (approx, 7 PM).
- Day of check in & registration will be held under the tent in the side lot of Naples Cyclery.
- Packet pick up will available at Naples Cyclery on Sat Feb 17th during normal business hours.
We invite cyclists of all ages and skill levels to join in celebrating the life of Jean Heuschen and helping to support cycling safety awareness in Collier County, Florida. We encourage tax deductible donations of $25, $50 or $100 to the Jean Heuschen Cycling Safety Awareness Fund, administered by Naples Velo Cycling Alliance a 501(c)3. This Fund focuses on financially supporting various forms of educational medium to enlighten cyclists, pedestrians and motorists about rules, laws, proper behavior and attitude needed to make our roads and streets in southwest Florida safe for all users.
All stages and rides will depart from Naples Cyclery side lot, 813 Vanderbilt Beach Rd, Naples, FL 34108 and return to the same location.
The Jean Heuschen 200-mile ride (JH200):
- Comprised of 4 stages starting at 6:30 am.
- The pace will be controlled at 20-22 mph and
- There will be rest stops at Ave Maria, FGCU University Village, and Marco Island on stages 1, 2, & 3.
- Full tech support with sag vehicles but bring what you need to take care of your bike.
Sign up for all 4 stages for the full 200 miles or for any 1 stage to support your friends or customize your own ride length with any 1 or 2 stages. We encourage you to make the ride what you want for the day. Click on the links to see or download the stage routes. The course will not be marked, cue sheets will be available, however we strongly urge downloading the routes to your GPS device for the stages you will ride.
- Stage 1 - Ave Maria 59 miles (starts at 6:30am sharp - bring lights)
- Stage 2 - Alico Road Loop 53 miles (starts approximately 9:30am)
- Stage 3 - Marco Island 59 miles (starts approximately 1:00 pm)
- Stage 4 - Gordon Drive 30 miles (starts approximately 5:00pm - bring lights)
The Jean Heuschen 100-mile ride (JH100) sponsored by Rupprecht Farms LLC:
- Comprised of 2 stages at 18-21 mph starting at 7:30 am.
- This ride is for those that want to ride a century.
- We also encourage riders to join for one stage (Stage 1 or Stage 2) and help fellow riders keep the pace to complete all 100 miles.
- Rest Stops in Ave Maria and FGCU University Village.

- Stage 1 - Ave Maria 59 miles (starts at 7:30am)
- Stage 2 - Estero Parkway Bridge 41 miles (starts at approximately 11:00am)
The Gordon Drive Ride is a 30-mile ride at 18 to 21 mph to the end of Gordan Drive and return, 3:30 pm start.
The Family Fun Ride 5-20 Ride is 1-4 laps in Pelican Bay, a 6.1-mile route. This ride is at the rider’s own pace with four laps around Pelican Bay for 24 miles, 10:30 am start.
