Babcock Ranch is excited to announce that we will be scheduling a 5K race series - 2021 - 2022. Our first race is Thanks 4 Giving 5K - Thanksgiving Day. November 25. Other races featured are Jingle Bell 5K, December 5 | ML5K, January 17.
All races will be 5Ks, and walkers are welcome too. Beach Bum Timing Company will be timing all of the races. Babcock Ranch is an innovative new town that sets a whole new standard for sustainable, responsible growth.
Babcock Ranch is excited to announce our fourth annual Jingle Bell 5K. timed by Beach Bum Timing Company.
The course is 3.1 miles of scenic beauty around Babcock Ranch. The course map will be available very soon, we are just tweaking a few things, once we have it we will upload it.
This race is to benefit Babcock Neighborhood School. Any proceeds above costs will go to the school to help them with their capital campaign to build their new High School next year, as well as other things There are no staggered starts for either race, all runners/walkers will start at the same time.
There will be an in-person awards ceremony
Packet pick-up will be available 24 hours before the race from Babcock Ranch Residential Assn. 42911, Lake Babcock Drive, Punta Gorda, FL 33982, as well as on race day.
Walk-in registrations are available the day of the race for $35.00. Cash, check or credit cards are accepted. Please make checks payable to Babcock Ranch. You will be able to register via your phone on race day.
There will be post-race food – (best COVID practices)
All runners are encouraged to wear a mask at the registration area and at the start of the race, as well as after at the awards ceremony if they cannot socially distance themselves.

5K start time: 8:00 a.m.
Same-day registration opens at 6:45 a.m. until 7:30 a.m. Race day entry fee is $35.00. Cash and major credit cards are accepted.
Packet pick-up start and finish are located at Babcock Ranch, 42850 Crescent Loop, Babcock Ranch, Punta Gorda, FL 33982
Cost:
5K; $25 until 11/28, 11/29 thru 12/4 is $30, Race day is $35.
*The race will be chip-timed, so your individual time will not start until you cross the starting line.
We ask that all participants wear face coverings in the registration/start/finish areas and maintain a 6-foot distance from all runners not in their household. It is up to you whether you wear one along the course.

Age group awards are based off-chip time.
There will be overall awards:
Actual Awards: 1st & 2nd Place Overall Awards - Male & Female.
In-person awards to the top three M/F in the following age groups:1st & 2nd Place Masters, Grand Masters, Senior Grand Masters. 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+.
Q: Is this a timed race?
A: Yes the 5K is chip-timed.
Q: What is the course surface like?
A: The course is a mixture of asphalt, hard-packed shell, and mulch.
Q: Are dogs allowed on the course?
A: You may run with your dog, but you assume ALL responsibility for your dog. You must maintain proper social distancing and pick up after your pooch.
Q: Are strollers allowed on the course?
A: Yes
Q: Is the course good for spectators?
A: Yes
