Description

Every day, women and children in East Africa walk an average of 5K to retrieve water for their families—water that is often unsafe and contaminated. This unclean water not only contributes to the spread of disease but also burdens families with high medical expenses. The cycle of poor sanitation and health risks is challenging, especially for the most vulnerable including children, elderly, chronically ill, and the disabled.

Skylar's Run - 5K for Clean Water is focused on bringing awareness that Safe, Clean Water is a SOLVABLE PROBLEM. All funds raised through this event are used to provide sustainable water filters for vulnerable families in Kenya. Receiving a water filter can quite literally change the story of a family-- enabling them to rise above costly health challenges and begin to take steps toward further education and economic security.

Race headliner, Skylar Gwin, and his father, Paul, will be leading the the way in their 200th race together-- as a testimony to the fact that EVERYONE can be part of the clean water solution, no matter their age or ability.

We invite you to 5K with us this year: GO THEIR DISTANCE. CHANGE THEIR STORY.
