With all the uncertainty in our world, the West Georgia Track Club Board has decided to make this year's road race a virtual event. The decision was made with great deliberation and concern for our athletes and community. Our race calendar is full in the later part of the year and with many other local races, we did not want to overcrowd the calendar. Thank you for your support with this decision.
Once you have made the decision to either switch to the virtual race or not participate, we will need you to confirm your mailing address. We plan to mail your race t-shirt and age group award (if applicable) after the virtual event has ended. We will accept your race times until May 2nd at 11:59pm. Submit any 5k or 10k time that you ran between March 14th, 2020 and May 2nd, 2020.
We regret to have to inform you that due to the safety of our community and per the guidance of the City of Carrollton and state and federal health agencies, the West Georgia Track Club Road Race 5K/10K will not be taking place this Saturday. This race is near and dear to our heart, and we plan to work with the City of Carrollton to find a date to host this race later in the year.
This was an extremely difficult decision to make and we did so with our community’s best interests in mind. Our mission at the West Georgia Track Club is to promote health and wellness in our community through running and we did not feel that moving forward with the race would be in the spirit of that mission. As a volunteer organization, we will be doing everything possible to answer any questions you may have but please keep in mind that this is a busy and challenging time for all.
Thank you for your understanding during this time.
