Red Hare Soft J 5K

Cheers!  It's time to start prepping for The Red Hare 5K to be held on March 10, 2018 at Red Hare Brewing Company in Marietta.   The Red Hare Soft J 5K will take you through the streets of Marietta ending with a Red Hare beer garden celebration featuring music, food and complimentary beer tasting (for those 21 & over, non-alcoholic Red Hare Root Beer soda will be available for anyone unable to drink beer).  All runners will receive a custom Red Hare BrewWatch 5K glass and the first hundred or so runners back to the brewery will get a chance to taste our specialty Race Casks, get ‘em while they last!  Overall awards will be given to M/F winners and the top 3 in all the usual 5 year age groups 10 & under to 75+. We hope you’ll come run with us!

Event Beneficiary:   A portion of the proceeds will be going to the Marietta Veterans Center.

Entry Fee & Registration:   Individual Participants = $30 ($35 on race week), 12 and Under Participants = $20 (discount at checkout),  Day of Race Registration = $40,  Non-Runner Beer-Garden Pass = $15 (For friends and family who want the beer garden experience without the work – this ticket includes souvenir Red Hare Race 5K Pint Glass, live music, and up to 36oz of beer samples. Does not include T-shirt, race bib, post-race meal or runner bag – these are for runners only).  Participants that are registered by 3/4 are guaranteed a great race shirt in their size (women's sizes too).  Registrations after that will receive a shirt while supplies last.   Virtual Race option:   Can't make it out to the event site on race day? Still want to participate and have a shot at an award? 
Then the virtual race is for you.  Here's how it works:  Register for the Virtual division, Start Training, The day before the race you'll receive instructions & a link to submit your race time, Submit your race time by end of race day, The day after the race results (Virtual Runner division) will be posted online, Monday after the race you'll receive an email with a link to the results & any pictures. Monday after the race we'll package up all the T-shirts & medals and put them in the mail.
 
Course & Timing:   We're just outside of Atlanta in beautiful Marietta, and there's not much that anyone can call flat & fast.  The course is a single loop and we'll be chip timing.

 
A Note about the host:    Red Hare Brewing Company, the oldest microbrewery in Marietta, GA, distributes their beer and soda brands throughout Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Alabama, Tennessee and the panhandle of Florida. Red Hare brews five year-round beers: Gangway IPA, Long Day Lager, Soft J IPA, Gem City Classic, and SPF 50/50, in addition to seasonal or small batch releases. Beer Garden Pass:   Not interested in running, but want to enjoy the beer garden after the race, complete with samples...then you'll need a Beach-Bash-Beer-Garden.  You can add it on to a friends registration or purchase it by itself (they'll charge you a processing fee if it's the only thing you get).   It will also be available for purchase on race morning for the same $15.

 
Event Cap:   It's important that we're able to park everyone, have adequate finisher pint glasses, and most importantly…enough beer!  The event is capped at 750 participants.   Based on previous year registrations, we expect the race to sell out so register early to guarantee your spot and beer!

Awards & Goodies:    All participants will receive:   a custom Red Hare 5K Race Pint Glass, Runner goody bag
3 wings from Taco Mac as well as fruit and hot dogs donated from Whole Foods Market
Up to 36oz of Red Hare beer samples (or craft Root Beer for those not drinking or under 21), and the first hundred or so finishers will get to try delicious specialty cask beers! 
We have awards for:  Overall M/F, Overall masters M/F, Overall Grand Masters M/F, Overall Sr. Masters M/F, Top 3 in all the regular age groups 10 & Under through 75+.

Awesome technical shirts guaranteed to all participants registered by 3/4, afterwards shirts are available while supplies last.  All awards will be given out based on gun time.

All participants will be entered into a raffle drawing to happen at 9:30 am on March 10.

Five Star Turkey Trot & 5K Championships:  All participants will automatically qualify for FREE entry into the Five Star Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot. see event website for details.  Top finishers will also qualify for entry into the Five Star 5K/10K Championships to be held in December.

 
Event Courtesy & Refund Policy:   Our events are designed to be fun and for the entire family. With that in mind any competitor, spectator, parent, volunteer, or sponsor, exhibiting unsportsmanlike conduct or interfering with the positive, competitive atmosphere of the event will be asked to leave the venue and course immediately with no refunds.   All registrations are final...there are no refunds, transfers, or deferments.
