Join us for the 3rd Annual BIG LEX 4 Miler on Saturday, May 29, 2021, at 8:00am at historic Keeneland Race Course.
The race will be a celebration of all things Lexington as we officially kick off summer in the Bluegrass. Our race will feature commemorative race shirts (Men's and Women's sizes available), a unique 4 mile race course through the historic Keeneland grounds, an exciting team competition, overall and age group awards, DJ James Hummel (Freestyle Entertainment), free race photos and more.
In addition to the signature 4 Miler, we'll also have a 1 Mile Fun Walk, Little LEX Kids' 1K Run/Walk, and Virtual Runner/Walker opportunity. Virtual runners/walkers make a donation to the race, and we will mail them their commemorative race shirt and bib. This allows anyone anywhere to join in the fun!
REFERRAL REWARDS Refer 3 friends or family members who sign up for the race using the unique registration link you'll receive when you register and earn a $10 REFUND on your original registration. It pays to refer friends to this race!
TEAM PRICING Consider forming a SOCIAL TEAM team to expand your race day experience. We'll have a prize for the largest team. For teams of 5 or more, members will receive a $3.00 price discount on their race registration. Don't go it alone--form or join a team!
COVID-19 SAFETY MEASURES While the race is months away, we still plan to have in place a number of COVID-19 safety protocols. These measures will include (1) Masks worn by all runners, spectators, race volunteers and race staff (you do not need to wear your mask when you run/walk your race), (2) Social distancing encouraged throughout the event, (3) Staggered/wave start based on estimated pace time (i.e. 6 min/mile, 7 min/mile through 22 min/mile), and (4) a race cap of 800 in-person runners/walkers.
VIRTUAL RUNNER/WALKER OPTION We are offering a virtual runner/walker option for those who cannot make the May 29th in-person race or choose not to participate at that time. We'll plan both a local packet pickup and/or mail packets to those who choose to "go virtual" and live outside of Central Kentucky.
PACKET PICKUP We will hold a packet pickup (walk up) on Friday, May 28th from 3-6pm at Fleet Feet at The Summit at Fritz Farm in South Lexington. We will also have race morning packet pickup from 6:45-7:45am at Keeneland for those who can't pickup on Friday afternoon. You may pickup for friends/family and there is no need for ID, paperwork or race credentials.
Our race charity beneficiary is the Dv8 Kitchen Vocational Training Foundation.
Our inaugural race will benefit Dv8 Kitchen Vocational Training Foundation. A portion of your race registration and 100% of additional donations made by participants will go to this charity to help them achieve their mission.
DV8 Kitchen Vocational Training Foundation Inc. is a 501c3 developed to teach second chance employees the trade of baking to elevate their earning potential and outfit employees with uniforms and food handler permits. DV8 has partnered with residential living facilities that serve people in recovery to employ the residents that are ready to enter the workforce.
