Preventing Injuries with Every Step 5K

Join us for the inaugural Preventing Injuries with Every Step 5K put on by the University of Kentucky College of Public Health.

Sunday, April 6th at 2pm at Coldstream Park in Northwest Lexington

RACE FEATURES:

• Flat/fast 5K route on the Legacy Trail through scenic Coldstream Park
• Commemorative performance T-shirts (Unisex sizes S-4XL)
• Awards for Top 3 M/F Overall and Top 3 M/F in 5-year age groups
• Chip timing for the 5K provided by RaceRise
• Free Race Photos & Finish Line Photo Contest (Thanks Ruby Cline-Eaton!)
• 5K Run/Walk, 1 Mile Walk (untimed), FREE Kid's Dash (9 & under) & Virtual Option
• Food truck, music, and injury prevention!

WHY WE RACE?
The 2024-2025 academic year marks 20 years of the College of Public Health developing transformative solutions to health challenges through teaching, research, and service. To celebrate this milestone, the College is hosting a 5K fundraiser, bringing together our friends, students, alumni, faculty and staff.

At the Preventing Injuries with Every Step 5K you'll be able to stop by different stations to learn more about how to keep yourself safe and prevent running related injuries. Stay tuned to learn more about our stations. There will be a food truck, free swag, and a free kids dash!  Plus, the race will kick off our National Public Health Week celebrations!

PACKET PICKUP DETAILS - We will hold our packet pickup on race day (Sunday, April 6th) at Coldstream Dog Park from 12:30-1:45pm.  Look for the orange/blue RaceRise tent on race day.  There will not be an advanced day PPU for this race.  Virtual participants will have their packets mailed to them on race week.
