Join us for our inaugural race honoring the life of Mark Huffmyer a beloved colleague and friend.
SUNDAY, MAY 4TH AT 3:00PM AT COLDSTREAM PARK/LEGACY TRAIL
Lace up your running shoes and join us as we run/walk to honor the life and legacy of Mark Huffmyer The race is in memory of a colleague, Mark Huffmyer, who unexpectedly passed away after a family vacation. We will be raising funds in his memory. The UK College of Pharmacy establishment of the Dr. Mark Huffmyer Memorial Travel Award Fund. Read more about Mark's legacy below.

Honoring The Life & Legacy of Mark Huffmyer
Mark Huffmyer’s career was nothing short of extraordinary, fueled by his passion for pharmacy and his genuine care for others. After earning his PharmD from the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy in 2014, he hit the ground running (quite literally—Mark loved a good run!) with a residency at the American Pharmacy Services Corporation (APSC). He quickly made waves at the Gill Heart and Vascular Anticoagulation Clinic, where his knack for managing complex therapies helped patients thrive. Later, Mark brought his brilliance and big heart to UK Specialty Pharmacy and Infusion Services, specializing in neurology, psychiatry, and substance use disorders. A trailblazer in aging and dementia care, he earned the admiration of colleagues and patients alike with his sharp clinical insights and compassionate touch. Whether mentoring students, precepting future pharmacists, or solving the toughest cases, Mark left a legacy of excellence, heart, and innovation that continues to inspire.
Mark Huffmyer lived a life brimming with passion, kindness, and adventure, leaving an indelible mark on everyone he met. As a dedicated pharmacist, educator, and lifelong learner, Mark’s contributions to = pharmacy were as impactful as his compassion for his patients and colleagues. Outside of work, Mark embraced life’s joys with open arms—whether traveling the world, sharing Friday nights at Pepe’s, or celebrating his love for Cinco de Mayo. His cherished dachshund, Cooper, was his constant companion, a reminder of the warmth and love that defined Mark’s spirit.
The "Swift Sprint 5K" is not only a tribute to Mark’s vibrant legacy but also a celebration of the humor, loyalty, and adventurous zest he brought to every corner of his life. Join us in honoring a remarkable colleague, teacher, and friend who showed us how to live fully, give generously, and never pass up a chance to embrace life’s adventures.
