Description
Kick off the new year with a healthy start in historic Midway, KY!
Join us for the 8th Annual Frozen Rails 5K & 10K in Midway, KY on Monday, January 1, 2025, at 2pm. Kick off the new year with a healthy start at this run/walk event through the historic town of Midway. Our races will start/finish on West Higgins Street.
Our RACE DAY HEADQUARTERS will be at Midway Baptist Church (Address: 121 S Winter St, Midway, KY 40347). We'll have packet pickup and onsite registration (cash or check) from 12:30-2pm. The church has a community center to stay warm before heading to the starting line outside.
Commemorative long-sleeved T-shirt, Chip Timing by RaceRise, Overall & Age Group awards, DJ, and a "Best Finish Line Photo" Contest. We will also have an untimed 1 mile fun run/walk and kids' 1K.
Partial proceeds will benefit the Midway Ministerial Association. The Midway Ministerial Association is a collaborative effort involving 7 Midway area churches (Midway Christian Church, Midway Baptist Church, Midway Presbyterian Church, St. Matthew’s AME Church, Midway United Methodist Church, Historic Second Christian Church, and Pilgrim Baptist Church) who provide support and funding for those in need in their community.
We are pleased to have Berserker Brew Coffee join us for the 2024 Frozen Rails. They will be serving coffee and hot chocolate for a small fee to help keep you warm!

VIRTUAL RUNNER/WALKER OPPORTUNITY If you're not able to join us in person but still wish to support our cause, you can sign up as a Virtual Runner/Walker, and we'll mail your shirt and bib. Then (if you want) you can do your own Frozen Rails 5K or 10K on your own timeline in your own hometown. The cost of this option is $30, and all Virtual Runners/Walkers must register by December 20th.
CANNED GOOD DRIVE Bring canned or non-perishable goods to either packet pickup or the race, and we'll see that they get distributed to those in need through the Midway Food Pantry. Thanks for your support!
BEST FINISH LINE PHOTO CONTEST Thanks to Jeff Laub from J.A. Laub Photography and Ruby Cline Eaton (A Runner's Mom & More Photography) who will be taking race photos at the Frozen Rails. We'll select one lucky winner of our "Best Finish Line Photo" to win a free registration to a future RaceRise race, so get ready for that finish line pic!

Our Charity Beneficiary -- Midway Ministerial Association
We are pleased to support the Midway Ministerial Association through partial proceeds and all runner/walker donations made to this race. We'll also be collecting canned/non perishable goods on race day to help feed the hungry in Woodford County.
The Midway Ministerial Association is a collaborative effort of 7 Midway area churches (Midway Christian Church, Midway Baptist Church, Midway Presbyterian Church, St. Matthew’s AME Church, Midway United Methodist Church, Historic Second Christian Church and Pilgrim Baptist Church).
The Midway Ministerial Association gathers for community worship services: Thanksgiving, MLK, Ash Wednesday, Easter Sunrise Service, and a service of Peace and hope in September on or near the anniversary of September 11. During these worship services, an offering is taken up that goes to support a fund within our community. The fund goes to help people in emergencies with rent and utility payments. This past Thanksgiving, at our Community Thanksgiving service, the offering was used to provide 10 Thanksgiving boxes for families at our local elementary school, Northside Elementary. The proceeds from the race will go towards this fund.
