Kick off the new year with a healthy start in historic Midway, KY!

Join us for the 3rd Annual Frozen Rails 5K & 10K in Midway, KY on Tuesday, January 1, 2019 at 2pm.  Kick off the new year with a healthy start at this run/walk event through the historic town of Midway.  Our races will start/finish at the corner of Winter & Main Streets near Midway City Hall (Address: 101 E Main St, Midway, KY 40347).

Our RACE DAY HEADQUARTERS will be at Midway Christian Church (123 East Bruen Street, Midway, KY 40347).  We'll have race day packet pickup and onsite registration ($30 cash, check or credit card) from 12:00-1:45pm.  The church has a warm/cozy community center to stay warm before heading about 2 blocks to the race start/finish area.  After the race come back to the church for hot chocolate, fellowship and awards.

Commemorative Long Sleeved Race T-shirts, Chip Timing by RaceRise, Overall & Age Group awards, DJ Stitz and a "Best Finish Line Photo" Contest.  We will also have an untimed 1 mile fun run/walk.

Partial proceeds will benefit the Midway Ministerial Association.  The Midway Ministerial Association is a collaborative effort involving 7 Midway area churches (Midway Christian Church, Midway Baptist Church, Midway Presbyterian Church, St. Matthew’s AME Church, Midway United Methodist Church, Historic Second Christian Church and Pilgrim Baptist Church) who provide support and funding for those in need in their community.

PACKET PICKUP is Monday, December 31st.  There will be 2 packet pickup opportunities.  (1) Monday, 12/31/18 from 12n-2pm at Midway Christian Church (123 E Bruen St, Midway, KY 40347) and (2) Monday, 12/31/18 from 3-5pm at Pivot Brewing (1400 Delaware Avenue, Lexington, KY 40505).  There will also be race day packet pickup at Midway Christian Church from 12:30-2pm.  You are permitted to pickup packets for family members/friends with no credentials necessary.

VIRTUAL RUNNER/WALKER OPPORTUNITY  If you're not able to join us in person but still wish to support our cause you can sign up as a Virtual Runner/Walker and we'll mail you your shirt and bib.  Then (if you want) you can do your own Frozen Rails 5K or 10K on your own timeline in your own hometown.  The cost of this option is $30 and all Virtual Runners/Walkers must register by December 20th.

CANNED GOOD DRIVE   Bring canned or non-perishable goods to either packet pickup or on race day and we'll see that they get distributed to those in need through the Midway Food Pantry.  Thanks for your support!

BEST FINISH LINE PHOTO CONTEST  Thanks Ruby Cline Eaton (The Picture Lady Photography) who will be taking race photos at the Frozen Rails.  We'll select one lucky winner of our "Best Finish Line Photo" to win a free registration to a future RaceRise race so get ready for that finish line pic!

Special Thanks to the City of Midway and Woodford County Police

We thank Mayor Grayson Vandegrift, the Midway City Council and the Woodford County Police Department for their support of our charity race.

Our Charity Beneficiary -- Midway Ministerial Association

We are pleased to support the Midway Ministerial Association through partial proceeds and all runner/walker donations made to this race.  We'll also be collecting canned/non perishable goods on race day to help feed the hungry in Woodford County.

The Midway Ministerial Association is a collaborative effort of 7 Midway area churches (Midway Christian Church, Midway Baptist Church, Midway Presbyterian Church, St. Matthew’s AME Church, Midway United Methodist Church, Historic Second Christian Church and Pilgrim Baptist Church).

The Midway Ministerial Association gathers for community worship serves: Thanksgiving, MLK, Ash Wednesday, Easter Sunrise Service, and a service of Peace and hope in September on or near the anniversary of September 11.  During these worship services, an offering is taken up that goes to support a fund within our community. The fund goes to help people in emergencies with rent and utility payments. This past Thanksgiving, at our Community Thanksgiving service, the offering was used to provide 10 Thanksgiving boxes for families at our local elementary school, Northside Elementary.  The proceeds from the race will go towards this fund.
