Join RefugePoint in celebrating World Refugee Day 2024 with a virtual 5K! Run, walk, row, swim, or bike - participate in whichever way is best for you!

Why: Since 2005, RefugePoint has assisted over 141,000 refugees in accessing resettlement and other pathways to safety, with a focus on those who are chronically underserved by traditional humanitarian response: such as women, children, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community. We envision a world where ALL refugees can safely build stable, connected, and thriving lives. With an alarming 130 million people expected to be forcibly displaced or stateless by the end of 2024 (UN Refugee Agency), the need for action is urgent. We need your help to support the programs necessary to assist those facing extreme vulnerabilities and amplify their individual stories. Theme: This year, RefugePoint's World Refugee Day celebration theme is "More Than a Refugee." Every minute, 20 people are forced to flee their homes due to war, violence, and persecution. Often, they'll travel hundreds of miles to reach a safer country, bringing only what they could carry. Once they arrive, they'll be known as a "refugee"—a title that threatens to define their existence indefinitely. But refugees are so much more than the labels placed upon them. They are mothers, fathers, dancers, cooks, music enthusiasts, bookworms, teachers, and doctors - people like you and me with hopes and dreams. As we celebrate World Refugee Day, we honor not just their status but the uniqueness of each individual. Let us know why you run for refugees and we'll share your photos and videos on our social media accounts. We'll also be announcing first place winners for individuals and teams who raise the most money.
