Description
The 7th Annual ChadTough Defeat DIPG Superhero Sprint & 6K, presented by Headfirst Summer Camps, is a fun and meaningful way to contribute to the fight against childhood brain tumors.

After two years of a virtual event, we are thrilled to bring back our
in-person race in 2022, with a 6K timed walk/run, a 1K walk/run, and a Tot Sprint. We will, of course, monitor the COVID-19 status in the community and abide by regulations in place at the time of the event to best protect the health and safety of our participants.
We will still have a virtual option for those near and far. Our virtual participants may sign up to walk, run, or do the activity of your choice, on your own, anytime by May 31, 2022.
The Superhero Sprint & 6K is a family-friendly event, and we welcome all children.  You have three options for your children:  the 6K, the 1K Sprint, or the Tot Sprint.  Children who register for the 6K may also participate in the 1K Sprint or Tot Sprint at no additional charge.  Children who are ages 5 and older who will be participating on the 6K race course should register for that event.

Early Bird Registration is available for all participants through February 28, 2022. Please see more details below on timing and deadlines. For our virtual participants, we will work to get everyone their race shirts by mail as quickly as possible.

The race was created in honor of Michael Mosier, a 6-year-old little boy from Bethesda, MD, who battled DIPG for 8.5 months before passing away in May 2015. This year is our 7th Annual Superhero 6K event, marking 7 years since Michael passed away. It has been an honor for this event to include many dozens of childhood cancer families over the years, and we can't wait to welcome back so many supporters who participate in honor of many special childhood cancer fighters.

Michael Mosier Defeat DIPG Foundation established the Superhero 6K in 2016. In January 2021, we announced the exciting news that we have joined forces with The ChadTough Foundation and now are united as one organization:  ChadTough Defeat DIPG Foundation. Our mission remains the same. All proceeds from the race will benefit ChadTough Defeat DIPG Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to raising funds for childhood brain cancer research, with an emphasis on DIPG.

Brain tumors are the leading cause of childhood cancer death for children and adolescents under the age of 19.  And, DIPG (diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma) is the most lethal form of pediatric brain cancer.  There is now hope for progress in the battle against DIPG, and your participation can make an impact and help save these kids' lives!
