Description
Celebrate Older Americans Month with by honoring an older person who ignited a spark in you!
The Challenge is named in memory of Kofi Frempong, a founding Empowering the Ages Board Member, who ignited a spark in every person with whom he came in contact—a role model, an inspiration and a shining light for all of us at ETA.
From May 1-15, 2024, join our ETA community by running or walking in honor of, or in memory of, a special older person who lit a spark in your life.
You can participate in Light A Spark from any location! And for those in the Maryland area, you're invited to a walk, fitness activities and community wellness event, on May 4, 10:30AM-12:00PM, at Kennedy High School in Silver Spring.
All proceeds benefit Empowering the Ages, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Empowering the Ages strengthens social-emotional well-being, provides life skills, and creates connections across generations to provide older and younger people with a sense of belonging and purpose. Specifically - ETA works in the Greater Washington DC area in the critical spaces of school readiness, civic engagement, and workforce development through developing mutually beneficial connections between children, youth, families, and older adults.
Thank you for helping us support even more people of all generations!
