Take to the scenic streets of Ann Arbor on Sunday, October 2, 2022, to help E-Race the Stigma with the 11th running of the Probility Ann Arbor Marathon. With a variety of running events that appeal to all ages and abilities, you’ll find that the Ann Arbor Marathon is your ideal fall, whether you’re walking your first 5K or running your 50th marathon.
All distance events — marathon, marathon relay, half marathon, 10K, 5K, and 19-Mile Training Run — start just outside one of Ann Arbor’s most memorable landmarks: the University of Michigan Stadium. From the Big House, participants run through the vibrant streets of downtown Ann Arbor, then wind their way through the panoramic University of Michigan campus. The marathon, half-marathon, and 10K courses also encompass stretches along the Huron River and Gallup Park and through Nichols Arboretum before returning to campus and downtown. All races end with a spectacular finish right on Main Street. The Ann Arbor Marathon is USATF certified, serves as a qualifier for both the Boston and New York Marathons, and is the RRCA Michigan State Championship Marathon.
If you’re coming in from out of town, out of state, or out of the country — or even if you live in the Ann Arbor Area — you’ll enjoy discovering Tree Town USA! Ann Arbor features locally owned and operated restaurants and cafes, independent bookstores, theaters, art galleries, and museums (including the University of Michigan Museum of Art), all within reach of the Ann Arbor Marathon. 2022 Swag images coming soon!
Plan on taking more than 5.5 hours to finish? Choose our early start option when you register!
Please note that packet pickup opens at 6 a.m. which is the same time as the early start option. This means that you will need to pick up your packet at the expo the day before the race.
We will record your start time as 6 a.m.
You will need to have a headlamp and any hydration that you will need before 8:00 a.m when the course officially opens.
Remember that the course will be marked, but there will not be any police or volunteers on the course until 8:00 a.m. so you will need to follow traffic laws and it will be good to be familiar with the course.
The course will close promptly at 2 p.m. At that time, if you are still on the course, you will need to move to the sidewalks. You, of course, may finish the race, but the finish area will begin cleaning up.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as this annual event raises money for local charities while helping more than 2500 people from around the world achieve personal health and fitness goals. Roads will likely begin to open earlier than posted times as long as it is deemed safe for both the drivers and runners!
