WHAT IS THE WINTER WARRIOR CHALLENGE?
It's a 30 Day Virtual Fundraising Challenge to log miles or steps you run or walk.

Miles or steps you run or walk between December 12, 2020 - January 10, 2021 are eligible for the Challenge.

WHY WINTER WARRIOR CHALLENGE?
Loretta Jacobs is a Warrior! She is a wife and mother of 2 daughters and 1 son. Add a full-time job to the mix, and yet she still finds time for her passion for running. If you're from Coloma, you've probably seen her running in all types of weather! In addition to competing in multiple 5K, 10K, and half marathon distance events, she is a Chicago Marathon Finisher and triathlete. Loretta has instilled her love of running with her family, who have been known to join her at local events.
Early in 2020, Loretta was diagnosed with breast cancer, and she underwent chemotherapy treatments in the months since her diagnosis. When those treatments are complete, she will undergo surgery, followed by radiation treatment. Proceeds from the Winter Warrior Challenge will provide financial support to Loretta and her family.
Please join us in running or walking in honor of Loretta. Let her know we as a community near and far are here to support, encourage, and give her our strength. She is not in this fight alone. Someday soon she will again enjoy running races and neighborhood runs with her family!

December 14 starts the second of our social media challenges where we will give away another $25 Gift Card to Silver Beach Pizza!
Maybe you have heard of or seen Strava Art, GPS Art, or Figure Running. Everybody loves playing outside. This is a new sport that encourages you to get creative, go outside and discover new places while running and getting fit. The competition is not about your running speed or distance, it’s all about drawing. AND it's our next challenge!
1) Create and walk or run a route that displays an image, and take a screenshot of your GPS data from your phone or computer.
2) The screenshot MUST include your username and the date you ran or walked between December 14 and December 19.
3) Post it as a comment on the Contest #2 post dated December 14 on the Winter Warrior Challenge Facebook event.
4) Not on Facebook? Email your photo to racers@swmiracers.org and we'll take care of the rest!
