Meals On Wheels Western Michigan March for Meals

Meals on Wheels Western Michigan's 3rd Annual March for Meals Community Walk & 5k is a family-friendly event for people of all ages and abilities to come together and support the health and independence of older adults in Western Michigan. The walk is a 2-mile loop and the 5K run is on that same loop, just extending a bit farther into the park. Click here for a map of the walk route, and click here for a map of the 5k route. Dogs are welcome, so bring your furry friends! 

Packet pickup and festivities will begin at 9:00 am at Grant Pavilion, with a brief welcome at 10:00 am, and the walk and race taking off at 10:15 am. An awards ceremony will be immediately following the race. This event is rain, snow, or shine! So be sure to dress for the weather. An alternative packet pickup is also available the Friday before the race at Meals on Wheels Western Michigan in Grandville from 4:00pm - 6:00pm.

Tickets for the walk are $10/person (with an option to add on a race shirt) and tickets for the 5k run are $30/person and include a race shirt (runners who register after March 1st are not guaranteed a race shirt in their preferred size). Kids ages 0-5 are free (no need to register them). There is also the option to add on a bandana for your furry friends (or yourself)! Ticket prices will jump up $5 on February 5, and another $5 the day of. 

For those of you who love competition, we've got some great prizes in store for our 5K overall and age-group winners. We are also challenging you to come dressed as a food item and will be awarding prizes to the best-dressed adult, kiddo, and doggo participants. We loved seeing pineapples running through the park, and hot dogs strutting their stuff on the trail last year. We will also have prizes for the youngest and oldest runners! 

Can't make it in person? Join us from afar wherever you are with the virtual race option! For $35 we will send you a race packet including a t-shirt. Map out your own 2-mile walk or 5k run and join in the fun by submitting photos and tagging us on social.  

We hope you also join us in donating or fundraising for Meals on Wheels Western Michigan. Every $5 can provide a tasty meal and friendly check-in for a homebound senior in West Michigan.
