As you may have already read from our main web page, the 2020 races have been cancelled because of the inability to responsibly hold an event of this magnitude on account of COVID-19 and because of the inability to obtain permits for these races. All currently registered participants can choose to donate their fees to Foy's to Blacktail Trails non-profit organization, get a refund for this year, less 6% Run Sign Up processing fees, or defer registration until 2021 (email Brian at firstname.lastname@example.org if you choose this option).
Foy’s to Blacktail Trails Organization would still like to offer trail users a way to get out and enjoy. We have flagged the 5k/10k/Half Marathon courses so you can explore the courses on your own. The courses have been marked on Saturday, September 12 and will stay up until Sunday, September 20: yellow/green for the 5k, red for the 10k and blue for the Half Marathon. All courses are run counter-clockwise and are thus marked for runners going in that direction. You will also see some pink flags for the marathon course mixed in with the other flags where it merges with some of the other routes. See maps on our main website for details. If you would like to print a copy of the map, email Brian at email@example.com and I can send you a .PNG file for you to print.
Please send us an email if you end up running any (or ALL) of the courses during that week. We need to know if our efforts of marking the courses were worthwhile! Gabe and Brian, Co-directors, Herron Half/10k/5k and Foy’s to Blacktail Trail Marathon.
These races are our largest annual fundraisers. We’ve kept registration fees low over the last 9 years to keep the events affordable. The money raised from the races goes directly to building and maintaining trails in the 34-mile FTBT system. In addition to event fees, our trails thrive largely in part to our dedicated sponsors. FTBT would like to recognize the following sponsors for their financial contributions in 2020 and many years prior:
Step Ahead Foot & Ankle Clinic
Advanced Rehabilitation Services
Jordahl & Sliter
Youth With A Mission—Endurance Adventures
Kalispell Regional Healthcare
Rocky Mountain Outfitter
Trailhead Realty Group
Chuck Olson Real Estate
Glacier Centre for Dentistry
Sportsman & Ski Haus
We would also like to thank our volunteer partners. Hundreds of hours of time and thousands of dollars have helped to maintain this trail system:
Applied Materials Foundation
Recreational Equipment, Inc.
Kalispell Daybreak Rotary
Montana Conservation Corps
Montana State Parks
Flathead National Forest
American Forest Management
Herron Park Equestrians
Flathead County Parks
