___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Your favorite holiday event in Red Lodge is back again. A free, family and dog friendly run/walk at the Rodeo Grounds in Red Lodge. The course is a 3-mile, double out and back which makes it perfect for the 1/2 trot option of 1.5 miles as well. Even though there is no cost to participate, we ask that all participants sign up online (or in person on event day) to ensure they are covered under our insurance and we get an accurate count of participants.

Well behaved dogs welcomed on a leash, please bring poop bags! Dog owners must sign a doggy waiver on race day. Dogs are not allowed inside.

Strollers are welcome, please check the weather prior to the event to ensure your stroller tires are adequate!

We will do our best with what Mother Nature delivers so plan on warm weather, cold weather, or who knows what kind of weather!

All donations will go to BareTooth Cupboards. At this time, we are only accepting financial donations. If you'd like to provide in-kind donations, please reach out to them. While the event is free, we ask that all participants consider making a donation to BareTooth Cupboards. You can do this buy donating when you register, or bringing a cash or check donation -all amounts are welcome and no gift is too small.

FAQ

Why is the Turkey Trot Free?
The Turkey Trot is free to be accessible to all folks in our community who want to get outside moving on a day we normally don't. We’d also like to encourage anyone who is able and willing to make a donation to our friends at BareTooth Cupboards. At this time, we are unable to accept in-kind donations of food. No monetary gift is too small.

Where does the race go?
The race starts just outside of the Edgar Gruel Building at the Rodeo Grounds. Everyone will start going South out to White Ave where a volunteer will turn you around to head back towards the Edgar Gruel Building. 1.5 Mile walkers and runners can peel off here and grab a snack and hot beverage. The 3 milers will continue north towards the dog park where a volunteer will turn you around to come back to finish at the Edgar Gruel Building.

What do I get for registering?
A good time! There are no freebies at a free race.

Are there shirts?
You can purchase a sweatshirt before November 14th. These are perfectly soft and cozy priced at $40. We will only have a handful of extra shirts on event day so please order yours before November 14th.

Are there prizes?
No. This is an untimed, free, just for fun event. We will have a clock up so curious minds can see their time. We will be pre-running the course and for every person who can run it faster, we’ll donate an extra $1 to BareTooth Cupboards!

Can I bring…
My dog? Yep. Please keep your dog on a leash and plan on picking up their poop. We’ll have extra poop bags on scene. Dogs are not allowed in the Edgar Gruel Building and this will be enforced. Water dishes for dogs and treats will be available outside the building.
A stroller? Yep. The route is all on pavement with one section of well packed gravel.
A strider bike? Yep. Kiddos on bikes are welcome but they MUST WEAR A HELMET. We’d prefer if adults only ran or walked or stayed in the back if on a bike. Again, helmets required for anyone biking, blading, scooting.

What if the weather is bad?
Dress accordingly. This event happens snow or shine or wind or rain and we’ve seen it all so look outside or check the weather and come with the right clothing on.

Are there snacks?
We’ll have a small spread of post race snacks and beverages but the intention is not for you to fill up before you go home and feast!
