Elite runners will start at 7:55 am on Saturday morning. All other runners (25K, 50K, 50K Relay) will start shortly thereafter. Chip start times will be recorded.
50K runners that expect to take 6 hours or more can begin their race earlier if desired. Report in to the timing trailer so they can make a record of your actual start time.
The race begins and ends outside the marina/office in 4,000 square feet overlooking the lake. Wear distinct colors and have your fans bring binoculars to spot you across the lake. If the weather is warmer than the 11 degrees it's been in the past, the large deck area provides ample seating and views.
The course is a loop around Salem Lake (7 miles) with an out-and-back trail add-on so that each loop is 12.5k. You will run on a wide rolling dirt trail around the wooded shoreline of Salem Lake with a small portion on a paved bike path along Salem Creek. This is a very spectator-friendly event. The average temperature in early January is a high of 49 and a low of 29.
All finishers will receive finisher medallions.
T-shirts, in requested sizes, are guaranteed to those who register 3 weeks prior to the event. This will be a long sleeve tech shirt in male/female sizes. Virtual runners must pick up their shirt during one of the packet pickup periods unless the shirt shipping option was selected.
Registration will close at midnight on Saturday, January 1. You must preregister to participate. No race weekend registration.
The 50K finish line will stay open until 3:00 pm (7 hours).
No registration after January 1, 2022 and no race day registration.
Online is the only way to register.
No mail-in registrations.
Sorry, No Refunds or Comps.

As with any race, the overall runner experience is largely based upon the number volunteers that help put the event on. The Twin City Track Club has an incredible club with hundreds of dedicated members, however if you are coming to spectate and can offer to volunteer at an aid station or turnaround spot, it would be greatly appreciated. Please email Bill Walker at firstname.lastname@example.org for additional details.
