The Souhegan Lions also support special needs camps and similar programs in the state. The Chip Chase includes recognition for fastest runners, nine age/gender categories, a bib raffle, and delicious, homemade soups, bagels, and cookies after the event. Why Choose This New Year's Race?

The P'nut Butter Chip Chase 5K Walk or Run is a certified 5K race and is the Souhegan Lion's primary fund-raising effort, contributing to our ability to address sight & hearing problems in our communities, help with immediate aid for local disasters, such as fires, and with area camps for people with special needs.  We are proud that each year we attract more than 200 runners, with nearly as many spectators. Our event has a warm, community atmosphere with homemade soups and cookies, locally made bagels, among other refreshments; we also have a bib raffle, made possible by our local sponsoring businesses.

The P'nut Butter Chip Chase 5K Course

Registration is held at the Temple Town Hall from 10 AM - 11:30 AM, then entrants walk over to the start of the race at the junction of Route 45 and West Rd. Our course is a certified 5K over country roads with rolling hills. Because it is held on New Year's Day, participants may encounter ice, snow, slush, or mud.
