Description
A UNIQUE combination of paved paths and runner-friendly woodland trails (and a surprise or two!) through the woodlands and Long Island Sound vistas of NASSAU COUNTY'S SANDS POINT PRESERVE - 127 Middle Neck Road, Port Washington, NY 11050.
Not up to the challenge of a 5K? Join us for a beautiful 3/4 mile tour of Sands Point which will start before the run at 8:15am

Awards
Top Male and Female finishers overall and they will each win a one year Sands Point Preserve Membership. Top three Male and Female runners in each of the following age groups: 10 & under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34,35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59,60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, 85 & over. Top three finishers in Men’s Clydesdale Divisions: 185 to 199 lbs; 200 lbs plus. Women’s Athena Divisions: 140 to 159 lbs; 160 lbs plus.

Directions
Long Island Expressway to Exit 36N (Searingtown Road). Turn right at the first traffic light after the Exit Ramp, head northbound on Searingtown Road, across Northern Boulevard (Route 25A, at which point Searingtown Road becomes Port Washington Boulevard. Continue north through the hamlet of Port Washington, after which Port Washington Boulevard becomes Middle Neck Road. Continue straight on Middle Neck Road through the Village of Sands Point, and turn right into the Preserve. Registration is at the Hempstead House on the far side of the field just past the Entrance. The Preserve is 6 miles from the L.I.E.
The 216 acre Sands Point Preserve is an unparalleled mixture of natural and landscaped areas. Forests, meadows, beach and cliffs, gardens and a freshwater pond provide habitats for a variety of plants and animals. The proximity of different habitats provided a unique opportunity to create a 5 Kilometer course that will enable all the runners and walkers to experience the various aspects of entire Preserve.
