Details

You will be assigned to a spot on the race course to direct runners.
Specifics regarding your location on the course will be provided in advance. You will need to make sure you are at your assignment about 30 minutes prior to the start of the race, which would be about 8:00 am.

We will have a Trail Walker letting know when you are finished.

Split Caller: Mile 1 High Priority

This volunteer task is full.

Details

You will be stationed on the course at the 1 mile marker. You will be responsible for monitoring the clock and calling out the time to the runners as they pass. You will be responsible for starting the clock and walking the clock out to your spot or it may be dropped off for you. After the trail walker has notified you regarding the last runner either wait for the truck to pick up your clock or return it to the finish area.

We will have a Trail Walker letting know when you are finished.

Distribute shirts to all registered runners.

Parking Medium Priority

Details

This position entails coordinating the movement of vehicles entering and parking in specific locations through out the preserve. Great if your running the race.

Water Stop High Priority

Details

This position entails working at the water stop. This includes setting up the water station, handing out water to the passing runners in both directions and then cleaning up the area after completion of race.

Start/Finish Line Water

Minimum met, 3 volunteer spots remaining.

Details

This volunteer position entails setting up and distributing water to the runners prior to the start of the race. It will also include setting up and handing water to the runners after they cross the finish line.

There may also be ice which will have to be packaged and distributed to the runners at the finish line

Please only sign up for this position if you are NOT running the race.

Lead Bike High Priority

Details

As lead bike your job is to lead the race and have participants follow you along the course. In addition, after the lead runners are finished, you will continue to ride along the course guiding other runners towards the finish while maintaining the safety of the course and the participants.

Sand Point is a unique race where there are different surfaces you will be riding on. Paved path, dirt path and a portion where you will ride in the preserve itself where a mountain bike is suggested.

(Lead Bike Experience preferred but not a necessity)

Trail Walker High Priority

Details

For this task the volunteer will walk behind the last runner of the race and notify the volunteers that they are relieved of their duty. They are also responsible for picking up and litter along the way to help preserve the course.
