13th Annual LECOM 5K & 1-Mile Wellness Walk

Join the Momentum. Fuel the Future of Healthcare.

Saturday, August 8, 2026 • 9:00 AM

LECOM Medical Fitness & Wellness Center • 5401 Peach Street, Erie, PA 16509

$25 per event • Live: register through race day • Virtual: register through Sept 29

We are pleased to announce our 13th Annual LECOM 5K — a healthful event where you can walk or run either our 3.1-mile (5K) course or our one-mile course. The LECOM Medical Fitness and Wellness Center encourages an active lifestyle throughout our great nation, so we are again offering a virtual option for those who are unable to attend our live event. The virtual option does not require a timing device to participate, though you have the option of posting your time on the registration site to see how you compare with participants from around the country. Our live event offers the option to use timing devices and bibs, so you can either compete for a place medal or simply go for a personal best.

👕 Free This Year: A Premium Long-Sleeve Shirt

Every registrant receives a gorgeous white long-sleeve tee — perfect for those cooler fall miles ahead. A huge thank-you to our sponsors Great Lakes and Erie Insurance, who knocked it out of the park with a top-quality shirt. Shirts are available while supplies last, so register early to reserve your size.

Supporting the Future of Healthcare

The primary focus of both events is the students who will be the future of our healthcare. We have seen the heightened risk that has faced our medical professionals over the past several years. They are stalwarts on the front line, providing care to those in need and risking their own lives to save others. Our profession is a noble one, and mindful of those currently in the battle, our efforts now will benefit those who will serve in years to come.

$4 Million+

raised and distributed by LECOM in student scholarships during the 2025–2026 academic year

All proceeds from the 5K event benefit the LECOM Student Scholarship Fund, helping to defray the educational costs of our future health care providers from LECOM. LECOM is an institution that trains Osteopathic Physicians, Pharmacists, Dentists, and Podiatrists. Since its inception, LECOM has proven itself as an educational institution that encourages and supports its scholars through and beyond their years of study. Our Annual LECOM Student Scholarship Galas are the chief generator of the resources used to help students defray and offset the cost of their medical education. In a time of increased need for primary care physicians, the need for successfully graduated medical practitioners is felt now more intensely than ever before.
