To all the ICYMCA Turkey Trot Participants:
We hope this message finds you and your family well. It is with a heavy heart that we must announce that the 2020 ICYMCA Turkey Trot will be going all virtual. While we initially believed that an outdoor event could be done in a way that was safe for our participants and volunteers, the recent surge in local case counts has made us reconsider hosting a large gathering. The health and safety of our staff, volunteers, participants and community are of the utmost importance to us.
This was a message that we were hoping we wouldn’t have to send and the decision to go all virtual was not an easy one. In a year where almost all “normal” activities have been canceled, we wanted our event to go off without a hitch. The ICYMCA Turkey Trot has become a family tradition for so many.
Our volunteers and staff have put countless hours into planning and preparing for this race. We'd like to thank them for their dedication and support to the Y. We’d also like to take a moment to thank Mytrysak Family Tree Family for being our event host and for being willing to have our race on their property. We are disappointed that our run will not be through the Christmas Trees in 2020. A special thank you to our event sponsor IRMC for their continued support of our event.
PACKET PICK UP INFORMATION:
Packet pick up will still be Tuesday & Wednesday next week. The packets will be available from 4:30-6:30 PM in the YMCA parking lot. Look for an email with specific instructions regarding packet pick up. Shoutout to The 700 Shop for the amazing Turkey Trot shirts. They do an amazing job & the shirts always look awesome.
