Description
The Flynn's Flyers 5k road race will take place on Saturday, September 21, 2024 in Central Falls Rhode Island. The Central Falls School District sponsored event is in memory of our long time colleague, friend, coach, and educator Ms. Kelly Flynn who suddenly passed away in the spring of 2023. Lets run together to honor the legacy of Kelly. All funds raised at this event will go towards the Girls on the Run CFSD afterschool program. Fly high, Ms. Flynn and good luck to all the runners involved. The race will start promptly at 9:00am at Yip Field with a short speaking engagement beginning at around 8:40a. Runners may start the check-in process at the starting line as early as 7:45a. The race will start and end at Yip Field in Central Falls with parking located a short distance from the starting line. The slightly more than 3.1 mile race loop is mixed terrain. The race will take runners and walkers throughout the loop a three (3) times before crossing the finish line. We encourage both runners and walkers to register for the event. Due to safety issues and the course design, dogs and baby carriages are not allowed. All participants will receive a t-shirt and race medal. At the conclusion of the race, there will be light refreshments for runners. We encourage family and friends to cheer runners on throughout the course. This is a rain or shine event.
Parking Information
Parking can be a challenge in Central Falls so we recommend getting into the city early. If you can, please consider car pooling with other participants and/or spectators. To ensure that participants and their families and friends do not have to stress about where to park, we encourage folks to park in one of three (3) locations:
- 65 Hunt Street in Central Falls. This is an open lot right next to Yipp Field (where the race will start and end)
- 46 Madeira Ave in Central Falls. This is the Madeira Club which is a 0.3 mile walk to Yipp Field
- 1114 Broad Street in Central Falls. This is the old Rite Aid Building which is a 0.3 walk to Yipp Field
There will be plenty of signs and event staff helping to guide the general public to the starting line. If you are unable to find parking in any of these locations, you may park in the local neighborhood near and/or around Yipp Field (if not closed by CFPD) or near and around the old Rite Aid building. Please abide by all city signage and only park in legal spaces.
