Riverland Terrace 5K

THANK YOU FOR BEING PART OF THE SECOND ANNUAL RIVERLAND TERRACE 5K ON FEBRUARY 22, 2025! 

Following an overwhelming success at the inaugural race in 2024, we are excited to announce the launch of the Second Annual Riverland Terrace 5K, presented by the Riverland Terrace Neighborhood Association and organized by the Friends of Plymouth Park! This event celebrates Riverland Terrace’s rich history as our neighborhood marks its 100-year anniversary in 2025, while also bringing together the community for a fun and meaningful day in support of Plymouth Park!

ABOUT THE RACE

The Riverland Terrace 5K is a family-oriented, pet-friendly 5K run/walk and Kids’ Fun Run located at Plymouth Park. All proceeds from the race benefit Friends of Plymouth Park, a community-based group of volunteers working with the Charleston Parks Conservancy and the City of Charleston to revitalize and enhance Plymouth Park. Our shared goal is to foster community connection and childhood well-being by creating an accessible, engaging park and playground for residents of all ages and abilities to enjoy. 

We welcome runners, walkers, rollers (strollers and wheelchairs), and sponsors to raise funds to support this beloved community park that provides waterfront access to all of Charleston. Though the event is pet-friendly, please remember that pets must remain on a leash at all times. 

FUNDRAISING

Last year, we raised an impressive $31,000 at the inaugural race, and this year, we are aiming for an even more ambitious $40,000 to help make Plymouth Park a welcoming space for all to enjoy.  We offer individual and group fundraising opportunities through the race website. Whether you are participating in the race, volunteering day-of, or cheering on your family and friends, everyone can make a difference by donating to this beloved community park!

IMPORTANT EVENT INFORMATION

·      GEAR CHECK: This is a rain or shine event! Please dress appropriately for the weather.  Please check this space for updates in case of inclement weather conditions.

·      REFUND POLICY: All registration fees are non-refundable. 

·      PARKING: Parking is FREE at James Island Baptist Church for all participants. 

RACE DAY DETAILS 

·      WATER STATION: There will be one water station on the course.  **Please contact us if you are a community service group looking for a volunteer opportunity.**

·      ROLLERS/DOG WALKERS: Strollers are welcome! We kindly ask that you line up near the back for safety. The same applies to those walking and those with dogs. Thank you for your cooperation!  

·      T-SHIRT PICK UP: Please pick up your t-shirt before race day during packet pickup times.  Visit the “Packet Pick-Up” section on our website for more information. 

·      TIMELINE: Race starts at 09:00. Awards will start at approx. 09:45. Kids Fun Run will start at approx. 10:00/10:15am
