CAN I REGISTER BY MAIL?
No, all registrations must be completed online. 

CAN I REGISTER ON RACE DAY?
We strongly encourage everyone to register in advance as we are likely to sell out. 

WHAT IS THE REFUND POLICY?
Riverland Terrace 5K follows standard running industry policy, which dictates that registration fees are non-refundable.

WHAT TIME DO I NEED TO ARRIVE FOR THE RACE?
We HIGHLY recommend you arrive 30 minutes prior to the start time.  This allows participants to warm up, use the bathroom, and not be stressed about getting to the starting line. No late starts will be allowed.

HOW WILL I KNOW WHERE TO RUN WHEN THE RACE STARTS?
There will be police officers and course marshal volunteers on the course to ensure you stay on track. 

IS THERE A TIME LIMIT FOR THE 5K?
Yes, all participants must finish the race within 2.0 hours of the start. Runners finishing after 2.0 hours may not receive an official time.

HOW MANY PARTICIPANTS ARE EXPECTED?
We expect approximately 200 participants in the 5k.

ARE SHIRTS INCLUDED IN THE REGISTRATION FEE?
Yes, a t-shirt will be available for those who register before February 12th, 2024. After that date will be upon availability.

ARE AWARDS BASED ON GUN TIME OR CHIP TIME?
Overall awards and age group awards are based on chip time.

WHAT IF IT RAINS OR THERE IS A BAD WEATHER EVENT?
The race will take place rain or shine. There will be no weather-related refunds. The event can be cancelled if the Race Committee determines the course is unsafe due to poor weather conditions.

ARE WALKERS, STROLLERS OR DOGS ALLOWED?
Walkers, strollers, and dogs are allowed in the 5K. All must start at the back for safety reasons. 

IS THE COURSE CERTIFIED?
Yes, the course is USATF-certified.

WILL RACE PACKETS BE MAILED?
Race packets will not be mailed. They can be picked up at packet pick up. 

WHERE DO I PARK FOR THE RACE?
Participant parking will be provided at the James Island Baptist Church located at 2023 Wappoo Drive. There is no charge for parking. Please do not block residents' driveways or local businesses and please be mindful of runners if leaving early.

WHERE IS THE DROP OFF LOCATION IF NOT DRIVING?
The corner of Wappoo Hall Road and Plymouth Avenue. 

IS THIS A CLOSED COURSE?
Yes and No. Parts of the course are closed for traffic, however, we do have to leave a lane available for cars. Pay attention to signs, Police Officers, Course Marshals, and follow the other participants. There will be police support at busy intersections to stop traffic, and runners/walkers should exercise caution during the race.

WHAT IS THE COURSE ELEVATION?
The highest course elevation is no more than 5 feet. The roads in the neighborhood are freshly paved making the course both flat and fast!

IS THERE A POST-RACE CEREMONY?
Yes, there will be a post-race awards ceremony and kids fun run at Plymouth Park. 

WHAT AWARDS WILL BE GIVEN?
Awards for the 5K will be given to the Top Male/Female Overall, Masters and Grand Masters and the 1st, 2nd & 3rd place male/female in each age group: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 & 70 and over. 

CAN I PICK UP ANOTHER RUNNER'S PACKET?
Yes, you may pick up another runner’s packet. 

CAN I DROP MY BAG OFF AT THE START AND PICK IT UP AFTER THE RACE?
Yes, bags may be left with registration and you will receive a bag check ticket. 

IS THE RIVERLAND TERRACE 5K FOR CHARITABLE PURPOSES?
Yes, 100% of the proceeds from the race raise funds for the revitalization of Plymouth Park located in Riverland Terrace.
