The Blizzard Run 2-Miler

Introducing the Christmas Blizzard Run 2-Miler!

The Blizzard Run is an exciting family holiday event with MORE "SNOW" THAN EVER BEFORE. This is an afternoon run (hopefully warmer than a morning run), the course is 2 miles instead of 5K and the entry fees are family friendly!

The Blizzard Run is for Runners of all ages, Walkers of all ages, and Dogs of all ages!

The Blizzard Run will take place at Hampton Station on Sunday December 19th at 3pm. The Blizzard Run uses a multi-loop course that's perfect for kids and adults. Kids 9-under will run one loop. Adults will run three loops.

PRICING. The Blizzard Run uses age-based pricing. It is not obvious from looking at the "Sign Up" button, but  the price for 15-under is $5 less than the Adult price and will show up in the registration cart at check-out.

Snow Galore! The Blizzard Run gets its name from the many "snow" machines used for the event. The "snow" is made of atomized soap foam that's totally non-toxic and hypoallergenic. Alternating snow zones and music zones will be set up along the course.

Packet Pick-up Packet pick-up is on race day only. Look for the black tent on the front lawn at Hampton Station. Packet pick-up is from 1:30pm-2:45pm.

Chip Timing and Awards. The Blizzard Run run will be chip-timed with awards presented for the following divisions: Top three M & F Overall, top three M & F Masters, top three M & F Grandmasters, Top three M & F in Age Groups consisting of 9-under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-over.

Costume Contest. The Blizzard Run has a great costume contest we're calling "The North Pole Fashion Revue". Yes, tacky sweaters are always a big hit and will judged for maximum tackiness. All costumes must be Christmas-related. The more shocking and original the better, but please bear in mind this is a family event. Awards will be presented in the following categories: Top three kids 9-under, top three kids 10-15, top three adult females, top three adult males.

The Fruitcake Relay. Following the costume contest, we'll hold the Fruitcake Relay, a 3 lap relay race for 3-person teams. Team members will carry and exchange one pound fruitcakes. Winning teams will get gift cards, and non-winning teams will get to fight over who gets their fruitcake. See the "Fruitcake Relay!" page to enter your team in the competition. It's totally free and you're guaranteed a Claxton fruitcake!

Post-Race Refreshments. After the race, join us in the "canyon" at Hampton Station for free apple cider, egg nog, hot chocolate and delicious treats. Or step inside Birds Fly South, White Duck Taco Shop or the Wandering Bard Meadery for a wide selection of food and adult beverages.

Invite your family, friends and co-workers. Bring the dog(s). Get into the Holiday Spirit at the Christmas Blizzard Run!

The Blizzard Run was created by the same event company that created the Greenville Santa Run. However, the Blizzard Run is wholly original and is not a Greenville Track Club event nor is it intentionally mimicking a Greenville Track Club event.
