Description
The 8th Annual Peacock Strides for Babies, in memory of Emily "Peacock" Ware, is a 5K Run/Walk and 1-Mile Family Fun Run benefitting CJ First Candle.
Emily was a healthy, vibrant, and happy baby with red hair that was always blowing in the wind, thus the nickname "Peacock." She passed away suddenly in June of 2009 at the age of 5 months. Her cause of death was determined as Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). Funds raised will support research in the hope that the cause(s) of SIDS can be identified and ultimately prevented so that this terrible tragedy never happens to another family.

About CJ First Candle
The CJ Foundation for SIDS and First Candle, two national nonprofit organizations, have merged to form CJ First Candle. The new entity is committed to the elimination of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS), Sudden Unexpected Infant Death (SUID) and preventable Stillbirth through education and research while providing support for grieving families who have suffered a loss.
