We Are Sharing Hope SC Hope Walk Virtual 5K

As we celebrate National Minority Donor Awareness Month, We Are Sharing Hope SC is proud to host the second annual Hope Walk Virtual 5k. This FREE statewide event focuses on building awareness of the need of donation in South Carolina among communities of color, promoting the importance of making your health and wellness a daily priority, and educating families about the beautiful gift of life in South Carolina. Join us in our efforts and share why you walk for organ, eye, and tissue donation by tagging us on social media (@SharingHopeSC). You can complete your mileage anytime throughout the month and don't forget to join us on Saturday, August 28th for our Hope Walk Virtual Celebration!

Currently, in the State of South Carolina, over 90% of the patients waiting are currently waiting on a kidney. More than 65% of those waiting are people of color. A disproportionate amount of African Americans suffer from diabetes and heart disease. This correlates with the huge number of individuals that experience chronic kidney disease.
