Table Rock State Park is one of the premier parks in the southeast with a mountain range that nestles in the heart of the foothills. This race will test your will but the experience and views will be well worth your effort!
Upstate Ultra welcomes you to the 6th Annual Conquer the Rock race series that is held in beautiful Table Rock State Park. Table Rock State Park fits the bill for the natural beauty. The towering mountain, which gives the park its name, serves as a backdrop for the 3,000 acre park. Below this section of the Blue Ridge Mountains, South Carolina natives and visitors can enjoy Table Rock State Park cabins, a campground and an old-fashioned swimming hole on one of the park’s two lakes.
The Conquer the Rock Ultra includes the Foothills 50k and the Bear Crawl 25k. This event has a pure, gritty, and natural feel that nestles itself in the heart of the foothills trail. The race offers two distances that encompass a 15+ mile loop within the state park.
Please arrive 90 minutes prior to your race start to ensure you can locate parking, bathrooms, packet pickup and set up your personal aid station if needed. You can pick up your race bib and any apparel items purchased race morning near our timing tent located near our start/finish line. Apparel will be for sale on race day.
Bib # & Timing Chip
Please locate the Bib # Sheet at packet pickup. It will be organized by distance and in alphabetical order. Find your name that corresponds with your assigned bib # and give that number to one of our volunteers at packet pickup. Please make sure that your bib is on the front of your body and is visible when you cross the finish line. Please make sure to return your timing chip to the correct storage bin located at the finish line prior to getting your finish medal. Participants who lose or neglect to return their timing chip will be asked to mail it in or pay $25 to have the reusable chip replaced.
The Foothills 50k has 14,000 Feet of elevation change and is comprised of a 2 loop course. The course summits Pinnacle Mountain (2nd highest point in South Carolina) as well as Table Rock Summit which has an amazing view of all the Foothills of South Carolina. The start and finish of the race will take place at Pinnacle Barn. The 25k is just one loop of the 50k Course and will have 7,000 feet of elevation change.

The course will have a series of directional arrows that will be placed at all intersections. Please follow all directional arrows to stay on course. In the event that you make a wrong turn please backtrack to your original spot of confusion. Cutting the course (even if unintentionally will lead to a disqualification). During the race you will complete two out and back sections each loop. We will place a hole punch at each end for you to place a hole in your race bib to verify race distance.
Aid Stations
There are two aid stations for the 50k that each runner will pass at mile 8 - 11 - 15 - 23 - 26. We encourage each runner to bring an aid station item to contribute to this great event. The water station on course will have water ONLY.
