*UPDATE* Top of the morning to you you all! We have spoken at length with local government and they are supporting our decision. We will be moving forward with the race as scheduled on Sunday at 2pm. We have closed online registration, but we will have day of registration open. We would like to make you aware of our additional precautionary measures we are putting in place to help ensure the safety of everyone involved. We will NOT have any aid stations during the race, please be prepared to bring your own water. Food City has provided us with bottles of water for after the race. Barley’s Taproom is closely monitoring the CDC, Tennessee Department of Heath and the Knox County Health Department and updating their procedures accordingly, we will have gloved servers serving your favorite slices instead of the typical buffet line in the past.
As with any illness or health concern, we ask that you minimize risks for everyone and be mindful and please do not come if you are not feeling well and/exhibiting symptoms such as fever, cough, or shortness of breath. If you don’t wish to participate in the race, we welcome you to pickup your Tshirt/Finishers Medal anytime during our Packet Pickup Saturday 2-6pm at Barley’s Taproom or Sunday from 12-2pm at Day of Packet Pickup at Barley’s. Barley’s has graciously donated a voucher for 50% off small pizza and 2 free beers to those who wish to opt out of the race on Sunday. Please keep in mind, this is a CHARITY race for Emily’s Power for a Cure. We have your shirt and finisher’s medal for you even if you prefer to run a 5k at your home and skip the pizza/beer. Virtual high fives all around!
Please refer to our Facebook Page for the most up to date information.
