Description

Lucky Kidney Run™, part of Knox Shamrock Fest™

presented by Fresenius Kidney Care!

This year's Lucky Kidney Run is a HYBRID event. You have the option to participate live/in-person or virtually. Select the preference you are most comfortable with during registration. You may change your selection at any time between now and race day. If you register to participate in-person, but change your mind closer to race day, you may easily change your selection to virtual with no change fees. The same goes for registering for virtual now but wanting to participate in-person closer to race day. Read through all below information carefully to understand all dates, pricing, and details to select the race option that's best for you.

Dates & Pricing:

  • REGULAR price registration is open through February 28th, 2022, 11:59pm. Registration fee includes 6K race or 1 Mile Walk, 2022 Event Shirt, race packet, a customized Digital Bib (must print at home, and a personalized Finisher Certificate (must print at home). Regular registration is $35/person for ages 13+ years. Registration for children 9-12 years old is $20/person and does NOT include a race shirt; registration for children ages 8 and under is FREE and does NOT include a race shirt.
  • LATE registration will increase starting March 1st, 2022, at midnight (12:00am). The late registration price is $40 for ages 13+, and $25 for ages 9-12. Registration remains open through race day, March 19th. You may register in-person on race day.
  • Extra race shirts may be purchased online or in-person on race day (while supplies last).

LIVE/IN-PERSON Race Details:

  • Live/in-person is your typical run/walk event, where you gather in person to check-in, line up at the start line, run the race with others, and cross the finish line. There are festivities, awards for top finishers, music and entertainment.
  • Race shirt and packet pickup will be held prior to race day. You may pick up your own packet as well as packets for a whole team/family/etc. You may also pick up your items on race day beginning at 8 a.m. We strongly encourage you to pickup packets IN ADVANCE.
  • Race Bib. If you are running competitively in the 6k in-person, make sure your bib has a timing chip inside. The bib should be thicker and bendable. If you are walking the 6k or running/walking the 1 mile, your bib should NOT have a timing chip inside, but should be thin and flimsy, similar to water resistant paper.
  • Results. Results will be posted and announced by event staff after the conclusion of the race, in person. Awards will be given to top finishers among the in-person participants only, in various categories.
  • Allow ample time to park and walk to the Festival Lawn of the World's Fair Park, and extra time if you need to register or pick up a packet before the race. Plan to be at the Festival Lawn no later than 9a.m., one hour before the race begins.
  • Parking is available in any city public parking garage; public garages are free on weekends.
  • Finisher Certificate (optional). For in-person and virtual participants. Upon entering your time / completion status (or after the race has concluded), you will have access to a personalized finisher certificate. However, you must print this at home. In-person racers will not receive a finisher certificate from event staff.

VIRTUAL Race Details:

  • Virtual means you register for the event as you usually would, you run/walk wherever and whenever you like, then upload your results until you reach your goal distance. There is so much flexibility with virtual, you can even complete portions of the event on different days and see cool milestone rewards as you get closer to your goal.
  • You don't have to run the whole distance at once. You may run anytime during the week of the event, for your convenience, and we ask that you truthfully record your final time when reporting your virtual results.  Reporting time is optional. (For reporting results, you must have a bib number, and you must NOT select "anonymous" for the participant lookup feature. You will see this when you register. You will receive a bib number after registering.)
  • Results. You may post your results starting on March 1, 2022. You have until the evening of March 19, at 11:59pm to post your results. Results entry will close at that point. Virtual participants are not eligible for top-finisher awards.
  • Digital Bib (optional). Virtual participants have access to a personalized race bib within your RunSignUp account. You must print this at home, however; in-person racers will not receive a custom bib from event staff. Print your race bib, pin it to your race shirt when you're ready to race, and Post a selfie using #luckykidneyrun to show off your awesomeness!
  • Finisher Certificate (optional). For in-person and virtual participants. Upon entering your time / completion status (or after the race has concluded), you will have access to a personalized finisher certificate. However, you must print this at home. In-person racers will not receive a finisher certificate from event staff.

Upload your PICS!  Post your pics via your registration account and on social media using #luckykidneyrun. Share the fun and good times together, whether in person or virtual!
