MAW’s Cause was founded in 2017 in Knoxville, TN by Brittanie and Ben Weaver. After the death of their 4 month old son, Mason Archer Weaver, to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS), The Weaver’s made it their life mission to help prevent other parents from facing this life-changing tradegy. In 2018, MAW’s Cause became a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to the fight against SIDS and SUDC by building community awareness, educating parents/caregivers and supporting leading research efforts. Over 4000 infants age newborn to one year old die each year from SIDS, with 7-12 in Knox County alone. MAW’s Cause strives to intersect new parents in the community with our newborn Halo Sleep Sack program at local hospitals, as well as raise money for continued research.
Watch the highlights from our Inaugural Race! We hope you enjoy and join us this year:)
