The Walk with Walker is a fundraiser for children with disabilities to receive the therapy they need. The walk started as a Walk FOR Walker while our son was in the hospital. We received so much love and support through it that truly touched our family. Walker was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy and goes to 3 hours of therapy 3 days a week. His therapy center has helped Walker meet many milestones. Our weekly routine looks very similar to a lot of those with children of disabilities, and it has become abundantly clear how hard it is to battle insurance for the amount of therapy needed. Therapy sessions can start at $125. It adds up fast, but the need remains the same. This affects the livelihood and independence of children. Early intervention is crucial for the best chance of success, but many cannot afford to continue to pay out of pocket, so help me to support those children through scholarships.
The therapy center Walker attends treats children of various disabilities from all over the Houston area. They have helped a countless number of children achieve amazing goals over those years. My son is able to walk, communicate, and support with his weaker arm now thanks to them, and I want to help provide the same opportunity of success for other children. The proceeds will go directly to the center to be allocated as scholarships towards those who are having a hard time affording therapy.
