Description
The Richmond Road Runners Club (RRRC) proudly presents the inaugural RRRC Candy Cane 5K on Sunday, December 10, 2023. After organizing the Toy Run 5K for 37 years, the Club is excited to rebrand the race and donate race profits to a familiar partner - Girls on the Run Greater Richmond.
This year, the race will take place in Richmond's Bryan Park. The 1/2 Mile Fun Run will begin at 8:30am and the Candy Cane 5K will begin at 9:00am. There will also be a virtual Candy Cane 5K option that will take place December 8th-11th.
All profits from the race will be donated to Girls on the Run Greater Richmond. See below for more information about Girls on the Run Greater Richmond.
Girls on the Run Greater Richmond
Girls on the Run Greater Richmond, a chapter of the national Girls on the Run (GOTR) organization, inspires girls across Richmond to be joyful, healthy, and confident through physical activity-positive youth development programs. Dynamic interactive lessons and running games help girls build self-confidence, character, and connections with their peers and mentor coaches. Their 10-week program culminates with a team-driven community service project and a celebratory 5K, which provides participants with a tangible understanding of the confidence that comes through accomplishment and a framework for setting and achieving life goals.
