RRRC Toy Run 5K with Girls on the Run

In-person December 11 --- Virtual December 10-12 Richmond, VA 23227 US

Description

The Richmond Road Runners Club (RRRC) presents the 37th Annual RRRC Toy Run 5K on Sunday, December 11, 2022. This year, the race will take place in Richmond's Bryan Park. The 1/2 Mile Fun Run will begin at 8:30am and the Toy Run 5K will begin at 9:00am. There will also be a virtual Toy Run 5K option that will take place December 10th-12th.

Any profits from the race will be donated to Mason's Toy Box, a nonprofit which distributes toys to hospitalized children and their families in Central Virginia. This year, RRRC is excited to partner with Girls on the Run Greater Richmond as they participate in the Toy Run 5K for their end of season celebratory 5K. See below for more information about Mason's Toy Box and Girls on the Run Greater Richmond.

Mason's Toy Box Foundation

Mason’s Toy Box Foundation is a 501c3 nonprofit organization which lends emotional, financial, and medical support to families engaged in pediatric medical life-altering struggles by offering gifts to hospitalized children (and their family members). Mason's Toy Box Foundation provides relief to families facing overwhelming emotional and financial burdens. With your donation, toys will be purchased and shipped directly from participating merchants to pediatric patients and their families.

Girls on the Run Greater Richmond

Girls on the Run Greater Richmond, a chapter of the national Girls on the Run (GOTR) organization, inspires girls across Richmond to be joyful, healthy, and confident through physical activity-positive youth development programs. Dynamic interactive lessons and running games help girls build self-confidence, character, and connections with their peers and mentor coaches. The 10-week program culminates with a team-driven community service project and a celebratory 5K, which provides participants with a tangible understanding of the confidence that comes through accomplishment and a framework for setting and achieving life goals.
