2020 Earth Day 5K Cancelled - Refunds to be Processed

We regret having to cancel the Earth Day 5K and Mile races but are certain you understand why we had to take this action.  We hope you will run with us again in the future.  You are provided two options regarding your registration fee below.

Here Are Your Options:

We sincerely appreciate your registration for the Earth Day 5K and Mile and regret having to cancel it.  We will refund your registration fee but we are giving you this option to allow the Foundation to retain your fee to offset our up front costs of the race and more importantly, permit the development of signage in the park describing its historical conversion from a landfill into our current city park.  The Foundation is a 501c3 non-profit entity and your donation will be certified as provided with no receipt of goods or services

We understand & hope you can join us next time.  We hope you understand the credit back to your credit card will take several days to process and will be the full registration fee but cannot include the transaction fee.

Description

Competitive and family-friendly 5K race followed by a Mile Fun Run through Mt Trashmore Park during the 50th anniversary Earth Day Celebration in the park. Activities include a post race party including snacks, soda & adult beverages, an awards ceremony, and Earth Day activities commemorating this 50th year of focusing on the proper care of our home -- the planet earth. Race participants and families are encouraged to stay and enjoy the Earth Day Celebration activities and events including local entertainment, environmental educational mini-talks, local food vendors and exhibitors and other activities.   

Race produced by t​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​he Virginia Beach Parks & Recreation Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization that exists to support Virginia Beach Parks & Recreation by raising funds, accepting gifts and providing other resources to enhance existing programs, services, facilities and technology.  Race funds will be targeted to provide signage & messaging detailing the environmental story of the development of Mt. Trashmore City Park from its earlier life as a landfill.
