We are honored to be able to bring to you the 20th Annual Basin Harbor 5K and 10K. You will enjoy this beautiful 5K course laid out on the grounds of the Basin Harbor Resort and Boat Club – a spectacular seasonal resort on the shores of Lake Champlain. The course passes by the lake, the boat docks and the golf course with gorgeous views of Lake Champlain and the Adirondacks. The course is stunning as it also winds through the woods (on a scenic road through the residential area). It doesn’t get much more scenic than this! The course is not only beautiful, but it is also relatively flat, so prepare yourself for a personal record! 10K runners will be treated to two loops of this course.
This race will have a mass start at 9:00 am; however, because we use chip timing, you are welcome to distance yourself at the start. Your start time will be recorded as you cross the start line, not when the race itself is started.
Click here to view our course map. This course will be run twice by 10K runners.
If you need to change the distance that you are running, please email firstname.lastname@example.org as soon as possible. If you need to change your distance on race day, please let the registration/check in staff know and they will transfer you to the new division at race start.
Pre-race check-in will be held at Fleet Feet, 77 Pearl Street, Essex Junction, VT from 2:00 - 6:00 pm on Friday, June 18. All racers will receive a 15% storewide discount at Fleet Feet during pickup. Please note that face masks are still required at Fleet Feet for everyone.
Pre-race pick up is not required. This is for your convenience if you're in the area and want to avoid the rush on race day. You are welcome to pick up bib numbers for friends and family.
Race day check in/pick up will be open starting at 8:00 am, Saturday, June 19 at the Red Mill at Basin Harbor.
On Monday, June 14, 2021, Governor Scott lifted the mask mandate along with social distancing and any limitations on group gatherings. We will therefore no longer require masks and social distancing at our races. You are more than welcome to wear a mask if you are more comfortable doing so. Also, we will be having a mass start at this race. If you are more comfortable keeping your distance from other runners, you are welcome to hang back and cross the start line shortly after the other racers have gone out. Your start time will be recorded when you cross the start line, so it's ok if you want a minute to cross after everyone else does.
Please park in the field across the street from The Red Mill restaurant at Basin Harbor. There should be a parking attendant to help direct you.
It is every racer’s responsibility to familiarize themselves with our Racer Rules. If you have any questions, please feel free to email email@example.com.
1st Place: Bottle of wine from Shelburne Vineyard
2nd Place: Vermont Maple Syrup from Dakin Farm

Please enjoy some refreshments after the race. Water is courtesy of Kinney Drugs. While at the refreshments table, take a red raffle ticket to be entered into a prize drawing held immediately after the awards ceremony. Also, if you are registered in the division that did not include a finisher medal, please also take a blue raffle ticket. These tickets will be used for a drawing for any leftover medals which were not picked up. You must be present to win in either raffle.
Racevermont.com offers free use of the RaceJoy app at most of our races; however, due to the remote nature of this race, cell service is not strong enough to guarantee you a great RaceJoy experience. We will, therefore, not be offering RaceJoy at this race.
Should this race get cancelled due to extreme weather or by order of the governor or other government official, you will have the option to either defer your registration to the 21st Annual Basin Harbor 5K & 10K in 2022, or defer to another Racevermont.com race of equal or lesser value . We do not offer refunds for unattended races regardless of who cancels the race, and transfers/deferrals will only be offered in the event that this race is cancelled.
