Thank you for your involvement in the STRAIN FOR THE BRAIN’S 5K Run/Walk (with a 1 mile walk option), and your continued dedication to our collective mission. In light of CDC guidelines, we will not be hosting our Run/Walk in person. Instead we’re excited to host a STRAIN FOR THE BRAIN Virtual Run/Walk experience on Sunday, June 6th, 2021 to give our whole community a safe way to come together and honor our patients and caregivers while we continue to raise funds for cures, and better treatments in the meantime. While this is a necessary precaution, the idea of our STRAIN FOR THE BRAIN community coming together during this difficult time is inspirational to us and we hope you agree.
The health and safety of Brain Tumor and Spinal Tumor patients and caregivers is our top priority during the COVID-19 pandemic. We sincerely hope that you will consider maintaining – or even increasing – your commitment to fundraising. Most Brain Tumor and Spinal Tumors don’t stop progressing and this is why we remain committed to fulfilling our mission in every way possible including finding a cure. T-shirts will be made available for pickup (TBD).
This event honors individuals living with a brain tumor, those who lost the fight, and the many people who love them, all while raising funds to support research to find better treatments and, eventually, cures. More than 30 “warriors” – individuals currently in treatment or who have completed treatment – participated alongside friends, family members and care providers, clad in yellow tee shirts.
Researchers and care providers from Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin were on hand for the event to answer questions and show their support for current and former patients.
Since 2010, this event has raised approximately $425,000 for brain tumor research at Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin.
Persons with any financial limitations please contact organizers to discuss a Fee Waiver.
