Our Mission

The Junior League of Colorado Springs belongs to the Association of Junior Leagues International. Founded in 1924, the Junior League of Colorado Springs is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Our purpose is exclusively educational and charitable.

The Junior League welcomes all women who value our Mission.  We are committed to inclusive environments of diverse individuals, organizations and communities.

Focus Area

Under our focus area of “Fostering Change,” the goal of the JLCS is to provide life skills assistance and mentorship to help guide foster care teens in the successful transition from the foster system to independent living and to avoid homelessness and prevent domestic violence and human trafficking.

Fostering Change Fund

In this time of rapid adaptation and unknowns, we turn outward. The Fostering Change Fund is ever more critical to young adults aging out of the foster care system in Colorado. This spring, plant a SEED to foster change in our community.

SHARE details about the Fostering Change Fund application with your friends, family, and community.

EDUCATE yourself and others about foster care in El Paso county.

ENCOURAGE eligible youth to apply for funding.

DONATE to the Fostering Change Fund. Every dollar goes directly to youth in foster care or young adults who have aged out.

With your help, even in uncertainty, our community will bloom.

The Fostering Change Fund committee welcomes former foster youth and young adults in Colorado Springs between the ages of 16 and 25 whose case did not result in permanency (return home, relative placement, or adoption) to apply for grants up to $1,500 that will help address their otherwise unmet medical, social, emotional, and education needs. During the first phase of the Fund, grants are limited to individuals. During the second phase of the Fund, grants are open to organizations on a case-by-case basis.

Read more details about the funding process here: Fostering Change Fund. Applications are accepted at all times, and funds are granted once monthly.
