Welcome to the sold out 2026 Juneteenth Celebration 5K, hosted by the Fayetteville Alumnae Chapter of the Delta Sigma Thetas, Inc. We are thrilled to have you join us to hit the pavement in downtown Fayetteville this Saturday, June 20, 2026
Whether you are chasing a personal best on our lightning-fast flat route or just coming for the vibes, here is everything you need to know before race day:
NOW: Hydrate!
As you know, it can get pretty steamy during the middle of June. On race morning the temp will be in the 70s, so with that being said, SAFETY is number one and it begins with you getting plenty of hydrating fluids and knowing your body/limitations during the run/walk.
Pre-Race Day Packet Pick Up (Friday, June 19):
St. Ann Catholic Church: 357 N Cool Spring St, Fayetteville, NC 28301 Bring your ID or a copy of the registration email. Yes, you can pick up other participant's packets. You will need an ID from them or a copy of their email registration. There will be NO shirt size changes. Swing by the Coolspring Juneteenth festival downtown after packet pick up!

3:00 PM: Packet pick-up is open.

6:00 PM: Packet pick up closed.
Race Day Schedule (Saturday, June 20):
Wake up early, grab a snack and don't forget to grab your RACE BIB and put it on the front of your body! There are very few turns on this out and back route. There will be directional arrows and chalk on the ground at intersections and turns. If you are walking, please try to stay to the right side of the road as much as possible. There will be a water point at mile 1 and mile 2. Grab a bottle and thank the volunteers for their support. Follow the directions of course volunteers and Police.

6:00 AM - 7:15 AM: Race day packet pick-up is open.

7:15 AM: Prerace announcements start.

7:30 AM: 5K Race officially starts.

9:00 AM: The course closes.
Location & Parking:

Start/Finish Line: The race will start and finish near the intersection of N Cool Spring St and Meeting St.

Parking: Ample parking is available in the surrounding downtown area, including the 235 Person Street Parking lot. Please pay attention to signage and avoid parking in the designated race staff lots near the Archives Building/Church Offices.
Swag & Facilities:

Shirts: Your white 100% polyester tech tees featuring the updated 2026 Celebration logo have already arrived and will be distributed at packet pick-up.

Medals: Finishers get the 2026 Juneteenth Celebration Finisher award, so get ready to claim your heavy hardware right as you cross that finish line!

Restrooms: There will be 7 portable toilets and a hand wash station conveniently located on-site near the starting area.

We currently have a completely sold-out race with 149 eager runners on our waitlist. If your plans have changed and you can no longer participate, please reach out and let us know at runstubborn@gmail.com as soon as possible so we can donate your spot up to someone else!
