"Mayor of the Lake" Ron Thomas
Elizabethtown has a longstanding figure etched into its history, and that's none other than Thomas, a dedicated public servant who left an indelible mark on the city. With an impressive record spanning more than three decades, Thomas's contributions are nothing short of remarkable.
From 1984 to 1995 and then from 1999 to 2018, Thomas dedicated himself to the Elizabethtown City Council, becoming the city's longest-serving council member. With over 30 years of elected service under his belt, he truly embodied commitment to his community.
Affectionately known as the "mayor of the lake," city officials honored him by dedicating the lake's dock to his name in 2020. A tangible reminder of his impact, the dock stands as a symbol of his connection to both the city and its natural beauty.
