Five Dollar 5k/1mile

Presented by Kentucky 5k for all level of runners/walkers and all athletes runners or not.

A Donation is encouraged and Appreciated since there is no registration fee. The mission of the Kentucky 5K is to encourage us to be at our best and bring everyone together for an exponentially positive impact on our community and charities.  Five Dollars is a bronze level donation, also available is the Silver, Gold, or choose your own option on the donation page. 

Today there are many ways to achieve our personal fitness goals, as an experienced runner I encourage other non-runners to come out so we can show you how "cool" running really is. Runners, we can become better runners and be less injury prone by learning from other athletes focusing on other means of fitness. Lets all Experience Running!

Most exciting we have a 1 mile option. Run 1 mile as fast as possible, it doesn't get any more challenging or fun. A great tool for laying out your next race plan is knowing your 1 mile time. Also a great tool to even the playing field for all styles of fitness and to guage our individual strengths and weaknesses. 1 mile races are for all of us and fastly growing in to the most popular race distance in large metropolitan areas.

The Kentucky 5K main event is a RRCA sanctioned event and a USATF certified 5k Race Saturday, October 1, 2016 4pm at the KY Horse Park.  This is an open event to all runners/walkers, but unique to the Kentucky 5K is the Racers Challenge to qualify for custom swag, prize money for top 5 m/f and overall m/f master and grandmaster. In addtion is the Fundraiser Registrant option, where registration is included when a registrant meets the $75 minimum standard for the charity of thier choice or the Race Charity, Special Olympics of Kentucky.

**All times from the Five Dollar 5k will be considered official by KY5K in accordance with the Racers qualifying standard for custom swag at the KY5K main event. 

1) Racer Challenge:  Racers qualifying 5K time standard: 
*FEMALE: Competitor bib sub 20 min, Open bib sub 25 min, Master bib sub 28 min, Grand Master bib sub 30 min
*MALE: Competitor bib sub 18 min, Open bib sub 23 min, Master bib sub 26 min, Grand Master bib sub 28 min.
*The masters age-group is 40-49 years old and grandmaster is 50 and over.
