Southern Lights Stroll 5K

Lace up, head out and help us turn on the lights! The Kentucky Horse Park Foundation invites you to help us set the Holiday Season in motion as you join us for the 2024 Southern Lights Stroll presented by CHI Saint Joseph Health on Saturday, November 23rd! The 5K competitive chipped race will start at 6:00pm, and the Stroll (untimed walk) starting at 6:15. All participants must be checked in and on course no later than 8:00pm.

Imagine seeing the holiday lights on foot, set in the magnificent surroundings of the Kentucky Horse Park. This year we have teamed up with Bluegrass Timing to provide chip timing for our competitive 5K race, complete with awards.

Show your Christmas spirit and take a chance at winning the CHRISTMAS SPIRIT COSTUME CONTEST. Individuals will be judged on Christmas spirit, creativity, and uniqueness. Top three individual will win a prize! No special registration needed. Just show up dressed in your holiday gear! A special treat will also be given to the dog with the most Christmas Spirit! Winners will be announced at the 7:15 awards presentation.

Shirts are limited to the first 2000 adults registered.

Children 12 and under are free. Youth ages 7 - 12 can receive a shirt if registered as an adult. 

Early packet pickup will be in the Visitor Information Center on the following dates: 

• Wednesday, November 20th 4:30-7 pm
• Thursday, November 21st 4:30-7 pm
• Friday, November 22nd 4:30-7 pm
• Packet pickup will begin at 4:00 on race day (Saturday, Nov. 23)

This year the starting line will be located in front of the American Saddlebred Museum which is located in the Kentucky Horse Park Visitors Center parking lot. The finish line will be located in the holiday village.
