FAQ

Race Venue
  1. Where will be the race be held?  Kentucky Horse Park (KHP) at 4089 Iron Works Pkwy, Lexington, KY 40511.
  2. What time does the race start?  The 5K chipped race starts at 6:00 pm and the stroll/walk will begin at 6:15.  All 5K Run participants are expected to start at 6:00 pm.
  3. What time should I arrive?  For 5K Run participants, please arrive and be checked-in at least 30 mins before the race start time. Traffic will be heavy, so plan to give yourself plenty of time to enter the KHP, park your car and get into the starting line! If you're planning to walk in the stroll, you'll be able to start anytime between 6:15 and 8:00! (Recommendation to Stroll participants - arrive at 6:15 to avoid traffic from race participants!) 
  4. Where will I park?  Free parking is available in the Visitor Center parking lot. 
  5. Are restrooms available at the race venue? Yes, restrooms in the KHP Visitor Center will be open.
Race Registration
  1. When does online registration close?  Online registration will close on race day at 4:00 pm.
  2. Can I register on race day?  Yes! But you should register online before leaving for the race.  
  3. What do I get for my registration fee? Your race registration includes a race number with timing chip (for competitive entries) and a race shirt. Shirts are only guaranteed for the first 2000 adults that register. Children ages 7-12 will not receive a shirt unless they register as an adult.
Race Participation
  1. When can I get my race shirt and race number? Wednesday 11/20 4:30-7:00, Thursday 11/21 4:30-7:00, Friday 11/22 4:30-7:00 and on race day starting at 4:00 pm. All pick up locations will be at the Kentucky Horse Park Visitor's Center.
  2. Can I view a course map?  Yes. Click the 5K Course Map tab on the left-hand side of this page to view the course map.
  3. Is the course totally on hard surfaces?  Yes! The course is on the roads and asphalt/concrete paths in the KHP.
  4. Is the course suitable for strollers?  Yes. Pushing a stroller on this course will be allowed, but please line up behind the main running pack at the Start Line. Also, please be aware of oncoming runners and move to the side to allow them to pass if/when this occurs.
  5. Can I walk the race?  Yes! Walkers are welcome.
  6. Can I bring my dog?  Yes! Dogs on a fixed length leash are welcome. No retractable leashes please as they create a tripping hazard. You are responsible for picking up and disposing of waste.
Race Timing/Awards/Results
  1. Will the race be timed?  Yes! The race will be timed by Bluegrass Timing .
  2. Will awards be presented after the races?  Yes! Award announcements are planned for 7:15 pm.
