Alright, y’all. Here’s the deal. We strive to be good stewards of our parks and trail systems. We’ve been in open and honest conversations with Parklands staff, and with the current forecast calling for a 100% chance of over an inch of rain for the race Saturday, we agreed with the Parklands that we would be causing irresponsible damage to the trails by holding the race in those conditions. The Parklands has been wonderfully accommodating by offering the event a rain date.
So, with that being said...we’ll see you February 2nd at 8:30 AM! The extended forecast calls for a cold spell, meaning the trails should be nice and frozen by then. There will be no packet pickup this Friday as it will be held closer to the new race date.
If the new date doesn’t work for you, we’re offering you two options-
1. If you are unable to attend the new date and would like to donate your race fee to the Parklands, we will open your spot and earmark your registration fee as a donation to the Parklands. If you would like to donate your registration fee and open your spot in the race, get in touch on the “Questions” button on the RunSignUp page.
2.We will be offering a refund window of race registration fee and sales tax for the next 3 days (ending Friday, January 18th at 11:59 PM). If you would like to get a refund, get in touch on the “Questions” button on the RunSignUp page and we’ll get your registration refunded.
Once we get through the refund period, we’ll open however many spots we have open to the public until we reach our participant cap. We know there are a lot of you all out there who were bummed on missing out- so this will be your second chance to get in!
Thanks for working with us on this, everyone! Sometimes Mother Nature throws us curve balls and we’ve got to do our best to adapt.
Join us for the first ever Turkey Run Trail Bash 5 miler to be held on the spectacular new trails in Turkey Run Park. The Turkey Run Park trails are the most extensive set of trails in the new Parklands of Floyd's Fork development. Race amenities include a custom embroidered race beanie, finisher/overall awards, professional chip timing, free race photos, beautiful course on beginner-friendly trails, and post-race chili/coffee to help warm up afterwards! This will be a great event for anyone looking to try a trail race for the first time or seasoned trail runners looking for a fun, local trail race option over the winter.
We will be enforcing a 25 min/mile cutoff for the safety of all participants involved. Due to the remote nature of the trails and relatively short race distance, there will be no aid stations along the course- participants are expected to carry their own water/nutrition.
In the event of inclement weather, there will be no rescheduled race date and refunds are unable to be issued.
