Participant bibs are specific personal identifiers and cannot be exchanged, transferred or sold to any other person. The sale, trade and/or transfer of race entries/race number bibs is strictly prohibited and will result in the disqualification and/or banning of all individuals involved from all Kiawah Island Golf Resort races.

Race registration is non-refundable and race bibs may not be transferred to another runner. We do, however, offer the option of deferment (transferring your race entry to the following year’s race). Visit our race registration page for details on deferring.

Our virtual marathon makes it easy to run using whatever app works best for you. We suggest using RaceJoy, as this is the only app that will automatically upload your times to our Virtual Marathon Results. Racejoy will also give you mile updates as you make your run, allow you to post to social media, and share photos with us!
You do have the option to use whatever form of tracking works best for you. If not using the RaceJoy app, you will manually have to report your time to RunSignup. Once you manually add your time, you will be added to our Virtual Marathon Results!
We mail out a finisher medal and t-shirt to our virtual marathon runners. Please make sure that your RunSignup address is correct as that is the address we will be sending your items to. December 12th, 2025 at 11:59pm is the last day for race times to be submitted.
Deferring is a super easy change and can be done directly through your RunSignup account. You have up until the evening before the race to defer. Race deferrals are valid for one calendar year.
1. click the profile icon in the top right hand corner of your screen. This will navigate you to your profile page.
3. Select “Manage Registration” under your Kiawah Island Marathon upcoming event.
4. At the top of the next page, select “Defer Registration”.
5. Lastly, click “Confirm Deferral”.
It is important that you do not register on your own when our registration opens. We will send out emails in January that will include a link you will need to use to register as a deferral. It will require you to register again, update your information, and sign a new waiver. The only way for your registration for the following year's race to become valid is when you completely fill out the registration using the sent link. Please note, there is a $45 administration fee for the change, but you are not charged again for the actual race registration. Please hold off registering until you get this email, if you register as normal and pay the full price, we are unable to refund you. Deferrals are not assumed for no show athletes.
