Pacers

Chase the Checkers is excited to offer Pacers for the Half Marathon. Since corrals are assigned based on estimated finish time, Pacers will simply start with the appropriate corral. All pacers will be in high visibility pace vests, and have large pace signs for visibility at the start. We will offer pacers for the following times: 

Half Marathon Pacers:

  • 1 Hr 30 Minutes or 6:52 Mile Pace: Dustin Moore
  • 1 Hr 40 Minutes or 7:38 Mile Pace: Eric Butcher
  • 1 Hr 50 Minutes or 8:23 Mile Pace: Stephanie Woods
  • 2 Hrs or 9:09 Mile Pace: Jon Wade
  • 2 Hrs 10 Minutes or 9:55 Mile Pace: Joe Hawkins 
  • 2 Hrs 20 Minutes or 10:41 Mile Pace: Gabby Behr
  • 2 Hrs 30 Minutes or 11:27 Mile Pace: Salvador Aguirre

If you are interested in joining the event as a pacer please email us at events@racemaker.org to see what spots are available. All pacers receive all event swag/perks, and free entry to race. They also get a $40 race credit good towards entry to any RMP owned event in 2021 or 2022. 

Lead Bicycles:

Our top 3 Male and Female Runners will be escorted with a lead bicyclists throughout the course.

Why do you pace?
Great question! This is my first time but have had many friends do it. It's another way to get involved in the running community!

Southwestway Park on the trails!
 
What is your favorite running fuel food?
Dates and Peanut M&Ms
 
What is your favorite race? (Any distance)
Marathon!! (50k is a close 2nd!)
 
What is your favorite running shoe?

Why do you pace?
This is my first time pacing. Sounded like a lot of fun!
 
Where is your favorite place to train?
On the road in the sun. Though a warm summer rain is always awesome!
 
What is your favorite running fuel food?
Eggs in the morning. Maybe some energy beans or chews during.
 
What is your favorite race? (Any distance)
Half marathon is my favorite distance. Its a long race, but short enough that you can train for several a year. That said, for scenery.. I did a 10k in Oregon that cannot be beat. I may be biased though since that was the first (and only) time I won my category :)

Why do you pace?
This is my first time ever, Ive had the opportunity to use pacers in the past to PR. Getting a PR is always something very special and I would like to be there to help people achieve that feeling! 
 
Where is your favorite place to train?
I love running around my neighborhood as well as running with my team Carmel Runners Club in the Monon Trail in Carmel.
 
What is your favorite running fuel food?
Nothing beats a Bagel with Cream Cheese before going on a long run!
 
What is your favorite race? (Any distance)
It has to be the NYC Half, its special because it was my first Half Marathon. Running through Times Square and finishing in Central Park is awesome! Im running it for a third time next year.
 
What is your favorite running shoe?
That would be Brooks Adrenaline, I need support so I try to jump from Asics GT200 and Brooks Adrenaline.
