Susan G. Komen Philadelphia Race for the Cure

Sun May 13, 2018 Directions
For Survivors & Forever Fighters

Our community participates in the Komen Philadelphia Race for the Cure for one overriding reason: to increase the number of breast cancer survivors!

Please note: our Race will happen rain or shine—and thankfully the forecast is turning in our favor!
Online registration is now closed . If you haven’t registered, please do so at the Race from 6:00-8:00 a.m. (see below), and encourage your friends and family to do the same.

Tremendous progress has occurred in the fight against breast cancer because of the people who have supported our Race generously and participated in it enthusiastically for 28 years. Through their fundraising, as well as their efforts to increase awareness and involvement in the cause, they have provided the fuel for Komen Philadelphia to save more lives locally and for researches to develop more effective treatments. It’s no coincidence that, since Susan G. Komen began its work in 1989 breast cancer mortality in the U.S. has declined by approximately 38 percent.

In fact, it is very likely that you, as survivors and individuals living with metastatic breast cancer, have benefitted from at the programs, breast health services or treatment options made possible by our very own Race for the Cure supporters!

Our Race is for you, and others who will one day take the breast cancer journey like you.

Seeing thousands of survivors and Forever Fighters opening our Race day events is the single-greatest source of hope for the Komen Philadelphia family. You are the inspiration behind millions of dollars of fundraising. Your lives bring encouragement to thousands of others facing a similar battle. Your victories over this disease instill the confidence that drives lifesaving action throughout Race season.

For all these reasons and more, the Komen Philadelphia Race for the Cure does many things to celebrate and empower the survivor and Forever Fighters communities. When you register for the Race, please be sure to do so as a survivor or Forever Fighter so you can enjoy these opportunities.
